BYU Condos - BYU Approved Condos - Provo Utah Condos

All BYU single undergraduate students are required to live in university contracted housing, which support the BYU Honor Code, unless they complete a waiver and receive approval from the BYU Off-Campus Housing Office. BYU approved housing is restricted to a 2-mile radius surrounding the campus. Even within this radius, there are many unapproved housing units. Always verify that the condo you are interesting in purchasing is on the approved BYU off-campus housing list.

BYU 0ff-campus Housing

BYU announced a two-mile radius for all BYU-approved housing in December 2003, and it took effect April 30, 2007. The new boundaries circle the university extending from 500 West in Provo to 1450 East and its aligned streets. In all cases, the boundaries include both sides of the street.

BYU Approved Off-Campus Condos

BYU has contracted with more than 1,400 landlords and 5,300 living units for single undergraduate students to live in off campus. Most of these units are located in apartment complexes but many condos have been approved. The owners of contracted rental units agree to: (1) adequately separate single men and women, (2) exercise reasonable efforts to maintain BYU Residential Living Standards, (3) maintain the facilities in good repair, and (4) not abuse basic tenant rights. As of 2012, BYU is not approving new off-campus housing units. Therefore, BYU condo buyers should look for condominums that are already approved.
